LAW FIRM ON DEED: Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen, Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The Sarasota-based law firm of Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen purchased a 1,792-square-foot office building on Cross St. in the Burns Court area south of downtown Sarasota for $990,000. The office was best known for housing Kimbrough & Koach.

Last year, the firm purchased the 5,000-square-foot Ludwig-Walpole Co. Insurance building at 300 S. Orange Ave., Sarasota for $2.175 million. The office was next to Williams Parker's existing 40,000-square-foot office at 200 S. Orange Ave.

The firm also owns a 956-square-foot commercial building at 1544 Cross St. next to the recently purchased property and 1520 Ringling Boulevard, an 8,206-square-foot retail/bank building at the corner of Ringling Boulevard and Cross Street.

“It was part of an assemblage of properties [on Cross Street],” says Bill Seider, president. “We have no immediate plans for it. We just thought it would be better if we could control the neighboring parcels. We are big believers in the long-term value of downtown property. Being here for 80 years we tend to think in longer terms.”

Kimbrough & Koach will continue to lease the building for the immediate future, Seider says.
