Ritz-Carlton Sarasota starts renovation

The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota has kicked off the renovation portion of its $5 million improvement project and aside from guests the big winners will be charities.

After installing new 36-inch flat screen TVs and new thermostats in the 266 guest rooms, the hotel is turning its focus to the changing out the soft goods. The hotel is replacing the bed linens, chairs, beds, wall coverings, carpeting, installing new wood entryways and even polishing the marble.

The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota must coordinate the improvement without impacting existing guests.

“We will make sure that the units below and above are unoccupied,” says Suzanne Willis director of public relations. “This can also take out an entire floor when we have to install new carpeting on the hallway.”

The hotel plans to donate all the guest room beds to Habitat for Humanity and will likely also donate other replaced items to charity.
