D.R. Horton restarts, builds homes in River Place

PRICE: $326,000

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Residential builder D.R. Horton purchased six lots in River Place, a community just west of Interstate 75 and south of State Road 70 for $326,000. The purchase price equated to $54,333 per lot.

“We decided to build six spec homes out there,” says Darren Saltzberg, vice president of sales and marketing for the Tampa-Sarasota division. “We think it is a great community. In fact, we have bought lots in about 13 communities over the last six months. Land prices are great; the price for homes is cheap; so [buyers] can get a great value.”

The homebuilder has already started sales in Grey Hawk Landing on State Road 64. It also has lots under contract that should be closing soon in the Legends Bay next to IMG Academies in Bradenton. D.R. Horton also plans to develop new homes in Oaks Vistas and Red Hawk Reserve.
