SchenkelShultz Architecture designs Storm Grove school
SchenkelShultz Architecture in Sarasota designed Grove Middle School on Vero Beach, a $34.3 million, 167,500-square-foot school.
Designed to meet the LEED for Schools Gold criteria established by the United States Green Building Council, SchenkelShultz incorporated a “school within a school” concept into the design where each grade level is housed in a separate classroom building. The 1,329-student facility features several sustainable principles including student-controlled classroom lighting, recycling programs, visual building indoor air quality controls and a sundial in the courtyard.
