The Role of PR in Corporate Social Responsibility: The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association will hold a professional development luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Sarasota Yacht Club, 1100 John Ringling Blvd., Sarasota. The meeting will feature social marketing expert Dr. Philip Kotler, of the S. C. Johnson & Son Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. The meeting will focus on why and how public relations is playing an increasing role in guiding a company's corporate social responsibility program. Mining Moratorium considered: A moratorium on new rock mines on 83,000 rural acres in Southeast Lee County will be discussed at a presentation to the Lee County Commission.
