James Moody III as associate

James Moody III is a new associate at Tampa's Gibbons Cohn Neuman Bello Segall & Allen PA. He practices in the areas of personal injury and civil litigation.

Moody earned bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Florida.

In other news, the firm has opened a satellite office at 110 W. Reynolds St., Suite 215, Plant City.

hires Vericker as associate

John Vericker is a new associate at Tampa's Straley Robin & Williams PA. He focuses on real estate, community development districts and local government law.

Vericker earned a bachelor's degree in accounting, a master's degree in forest resources and conservation, a law degree and a certificate in environmental and land use law from the University of Florida.

National certification board

recertifies John Emmanuel

John Emmanuel has been recertified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. The board originally certified him as an expert in 1995.

Emmanuel is a shareholder at Fowler White Boggs Banker PA, where he also serves on the firm's board of directors.

He is past chair of the Florida Bar Bankruptcy/UCC Committee and the bar's Business Law Section.

Andrea Zelman to board

Andrea Zelman is a new member of the board of directors at A Gift for Teaching, Tampa. Zelman, an of counsel member at Tampa's White Boggs Banker PA, practices environmental and land use law.

Carlton Fields picks three

new shareholders in Tampa

Nancy Ciampa, Cristin Conley and Donna DeVaney are new shareholders at Carlton Fields PA, Tampa.

Ciampa practices in the areas of civil trial and appellate law. A graduate of the University of Maine, she earned a master's degree in education from Boston University and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Conley practices in the areas of corporate, securities, taxation, asset-based financing, international trade and transactions, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions and private equity and venture capital. A Duke University graduate, she earned a law degree and a LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida.

DeVaney practices in the areas of pharmaceutical and medical device, products liability and toxic tort liability and litigation and dispute resolution. A graduate of Auburn University, she earned a law degree from the Stetson University College of Law.

Joshua Magidson elected

to Stetson overseer board

Joshua Magidson is a newly elected member of the Stetson University College of Law Board of Overseers.

Magidson, a shareholder in the Clearwater office of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen PA, is a 1980 Stetson graduate.

He practices in the areas of business litigation, with an emphasis in real property litigation, probate litigation, auto dealership and bankruptcy issues involving creditors' rights.

Construction lawyers' journal

includes Allen Dell's Grandoff

Allen Dell PA attorney J. Bert Grandoff Jr. has been included in the 2005 edition of International Who's Who of Construction Lawyers.

Recommendation for inclusion in the publication comes from attorneys in private practice, corporate counsel and construction practitioners.

Grandoff is a founding fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and currently serves as its president. He is a former member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors.

Patricia Thompson to board

The American College of Construction Lawyers recently elected Carlton Fields PA shareholder Patricia H. Thompson to its board of directors. She also serves as co-chair of the group's insurance/surety law standing committee.

Thompson focuses in the areas of construction, commercial, surety, fidelity and insurance coverage and employment law.

A graduate of Saint Olaf College, she earned a law degree in 1976 from Vanderbilt University.
