× Mark Purtee was hired as director of sales for two major projects of U.S. Tower Division of Taylor Woodrow - Sereno at Madeira Beach and Beleza on Venice Beach. Purtee has more than 10 years of experience in real estate sales and has served as a financial executive and entrepreneur in the acquisition, investment and sales of real estate.

× Dr. Richard Aranibar will be Lakewood Ranch Medical Center chief of medicine and director of critical care services. Aranibar owns a pulmonary practice in the Lakewood Ranch Medical Office building.
Other Lakewood Ranch Medical Center staffers are Elsy Rucker, vice chief of staff; Harvey Mishner, secretary-treasurer; G. Rucker and Charles Baten, members at large; and Robert George, medical school dean of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

× Steven Denman was named a shareholder in the law firm of Abel, Band, Russell, Collier, Pitchford & Gordon. Denman is a member of the firm's litigation and dispute resolution and administrative services and project development practice groups.

× Byron Read was named director of sales for Clear Channel Radio of Sarasota. Read was previously a regional general manager/market manager in Pittsburgh.

× Jim Loring was hired as a senior communications consultant for Smith Seckman Reid Inc. Loring will be responsible for certified design and specification of structured cabling systems and technology distribution infrastructure for health care, higher education and IT projects in Florida.
