× Clarke Advertising & Public Relations announced the addition of three new employees.

Tim Gibbons joined Clarke as a public relations senior account executive. Gibbons previously worked at PRCommunicators in Cincinnati.

Mark Sapienza comes to Clarke as a senior art director. He worked in the same position at Doner Advertising in Southfield, Mich.

Heather McLain is the new public relations coordinator. She previously worked for the Asolo Theatre Co. and Tropicana Products Inc.

× Carlee Chambliss was promoted to sales manager at Liberty Savings Bank's Bayshore Gardens Financial Center. Chambliss has been with Liberty since 1998.

Business

× Lisa Hagerman, formerly of Longboat Key, joined Executive Title in Sarasota as marketing director. Prior to joining Executive Title, Hagerman was a financial consultant.

× Hal Edwards was named vice president of marketing and communications for Kforce Inc., a full service professional staffing firm. Prior to joining Kforce, Edwards was a senior vice president and account director with West Wayne Inc. in Atlanta.

× Cyril Dougherty, founder of Approved Home Health Inc. and Approved Homemakers and Companions, will soon retire. Dougherty has been an active member in the elder care community serving as past president of the Advisory Council West Central Florida Area Agency on Aging and the Manatee Area on Aging, and as past facilitator of the Florida Council on Aging.

× The board at Bay Village of Sarasota, a continuing care retirement community, has elected Dr. Peter James to the board. James specialized in orthopedics in Toronto and Buffalo, N.Y.

× The Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) board of directors appointed three new board members: Stephanie Groskreutz moved from an alternate board position to permanent board member; Richard Dear, of Tropical Breeze Resort, was named a permanent board director; and James McManemon, Jr. was selected for an alternate position on the board.

× Al Roach, Jr. was named chief operating officer of VenVest. Previously, Roach was an attorney in Atlanta and has 30 years experience in the HVAC industry.

Construction

× Jamie Pirrello was named chief financial officer (CFO) of First Home Builders. Prior to joining the company, Pirrello served as CFO for the Longford Group, a real estate development company in Las Vegas.

× Horst Kalchbrenner joined the staff of John Cannon Homes as a builder. Previously, Kalchbrenner worked for Arthur Rutenberg Homes and Sam Rodgers Homes.

Government

× U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris has been appointed to the House Committee on Government Reform. Congresswoman Harris will serve as a member of its subcommittee on National Security, Emerging Threats and International Relations and the subcommittee on Government Efficiency and Financial Management.

Law

× Charles Bailey III joined the firm of Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen. Bailey, who practiced for five years with the Sarasota County attorney's office, specializes in land use, zoning, development and permitting matters.

Medical

× Dr. Kirk Conrad, a neurointerventional radiologist, has joined SMH Radiology Associates PA at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was a clinical assistant professor of radiology and endovascular neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Real Estate

× Leisa Weintraub was promoted to vice president of development for Neal Communities.

× Marjorie Komisar joined John Cannon Homes as a purchasing agent. Previously, Komisar worked for Boran Craig Engle Construction Co. in Sarasota.

× Re/Max Properties broker/owners Tim & Judy Crowley were named the No. 1 Sales Office in Florida in closed dollar volume at the 2003 regional celebration in Orlando. The Crowleys were also honored with the Distinguished Service Award. Associates who received awards include R. Craig Adams, Marcia McLaughlin and the Cail Team, which was made a member of the "Chairman's Club."
