Tampa-based Gale Healthcare Solutions has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing U.S. companies, coming in at No. 931 in the rankings.
Led by serial entrepreneur Tony Braswell, who in June was named Ernst & Young LLP’s Florida Entrepreneur of the Year, Gale Healthcare Solutions has developed a mobile app aimed at ending the nationwide nursing shortage. Qualified users can find and accept open shifts at health care facilities in just seconds, allowing nursing professionals to earn extra income while helping medical facilities provide better patient care.
“Our ranking as one of the fastest-growing companies in America is great news for the Gale team and for anyone who has a loved one in a nursing home or senior care facility,” Braswell states in a news release. “We launched Gale to help solve the national nursing shortage. Through technology and people, we’re on a mission to ensure no one goes without care.”
Gale, according to the release, operates in 39 states, and the firm recently secured $60 million in funding from FTV Capital, a sector-focused growth equity investment firm, that will fuel further expansion in the $24.7 billion health care temporary staffing market. A 2022 survey by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living found that 98% of nursing homes are experiencing staffing shortages, and 73% are concerned about having to close their doors.
“The staffing shortage affects countless individuals every day,” Braswell states in the release. “We are so fortunate to have a purpose-driven team committed to making a difference. As we begin our seventh year from our home here in Hillsborough County, we couldn’t be more excited about our momentum and ability to serve even more people in the future.”
Other Tampa Bay companies named to the Inc. 5000 list include tech firms Blue.cloud (No. 533), KITRUM (No. 50), Ideal Agent (No. 73) and Soma Global (No. 141), medical device maker PainTEQ (No. 149) and insurance company Neptune Flood (No. 205).
“The accomplishment of building one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., in light of recent economic roadblocks, cannot be overstated," Inc. Editor-in-Chief Scott Omelianuk states in the release. "Inc. is thrilled to honor the companies that have established themselves through innovation, hard work and rising to the challenges of today.”
