TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t take the field Thursday night, but there were a whole lot of other winners hanging out at Raymond James Stadium.
They were there to be recognized by the industry group NAIOP Tampa Bay at its annual Best of the Best awards ceremony March 10. The top winners of the night were Strategic Property Partners, the firm behind Water Street Tampa, and the brokerage firm CBRE.
SPP was named Best Developer of the Year. The award goes to the developer “that best exemplifies leadership and innovation in the commercial real estate industry.” The Bromley Cos. won the award last year and in 2019 Brennan Investment Group took the top spot.
CBRE was named Brokerage Firm of the Year. The firm won the award in 2019 as well. Cushman & Wakefield won it last year. The winner is based on a combination of volume and revenue of transactions and office culture.
Also honored: Bruce Erhardt, executive managing director at Cushman & Wakefield of Florida, was inducted into the NAIOP Hall of Fame for his contributions to the industry; Jim Moler, executive vice president of JLL, received the 2021 President’s Award for his work with NAIOP programs and initiatives; and David Moskovitz, director of leasing and brokerage for Cardinal Point, got the Developing Leader of the Year.
This was the first year for the developing leader award, a peer-voted distinction for “up-and-coming commercial real estate professionals, 35 years of age and under, for their valued contributions and commitment to the industry.”

Best Mixed-Use Project: Water Street Tampa
Best Retail Project: Midtown Tampa
