Construction begins on new corporate headquarters for eye care center

The headquarters of Frantz EyeCare is designed to promote staff efficiency, quality data collection and a unique patient experience.

FORT MYERS — Stevens Construction has started work on the new corporate headquarters of Frantz EyeCare in Fort Myers.

The 60,000-square-foot, two-story building will include an Agency for Health Care Administration-licensed surgery center with four operating rooms complete with sterilization and recovery, according to a press release.

The first floor will house the surgery center, a laser vision correction suite, cosmetic center treatment rooms, eye examination pods, retail area and an expansive lobby. The second floor will house administrative offices and have space available for lease. 

A statement says the headquarters is designed to promote staff efficiency, quality data collection and a unique patient experience. Construction on Frantz EyeCare is expected to be finished in winter 2022.

The Stevens Construction team worked in pre-construction for 10 months prior to construction starting, providing due diligence on the project site, budgeting, constructability reviews and cost-savings suggestions. The team includes Project Manager Jon Zander, Superintendent Jamie Bridges and Project Administrator Rebeccah Cabana. The design team includes Gordon & Associates Architect LLC, Southview Studios and Quattrone & Associates Inc.

Stevens Construction has offices in Fort Myers, Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota. The firm provides construction management, general contracting and consulting services to clients and design professionals. Stevens builds commercial, health care and hospitality facilities. The firm reported $54.6 million in revenue in 2020.
