Area insurance agency acquires another firm, expanding presence

SARASOTA — Purmort & Martin Insurance Agency recently acquired Jeff DeJongh and Associates to expand its presence in the region.

Sarasota-based Jeff DeJongh and Associates is a property and casualty insurance agency that serves Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.

Jeff DeJongh will join Sarasota-based Purmort & Martin Insurance Agency as vice president of sales, according to a press release. DeJongh has more than 18 years of sales and management experience in the insurance, financial services and medical and dental device professions.

“We look forward to having Jeff and his team join us,” says Russ Bobbitt, president and CEO of Purmort & Martin Insurance Agency and a licensed Florida agent since 1996, in a statement. “He has been a friend of our firm for many years and welcoming him aboard was a natural fit for us.”

Jeff DeJongh and Associates’ three experienced staff members will join the 26 other sales professionals in Purmort & Martin Insurance Agency’s Sarasota office at 2301 Ringling Blvd.
