Homebuilder promotes from within for vice president of operations

LAKEWOOD RANCH — M/I Homes has promoted Kevin Archer to vice president of operations. 

Archer will lead the Sarasota operations team in managing the homebuilding process in the field and office. According to a press release, he previously served just under two years as director of operations for M/I Homes' Sarasota division. 

Before starting at M/I Homes in 2016, Archer was vice president of operations for Baessler Homes in Greely, Colo. He has also served as purchasing and estimating manager for Spring Creek Homes in Windsor, Colo., and owned his own business, KMA Construction, in Eaton, Colo. 

Archer has more than 17 years of experience in the construction industry, a statement says.  

M/I Homes was founded in 1976 by Melvin and Irving Schottenstein. The company opened a homebuilding division for Sarasota and Manatee counties in July 2016.
