SARASOTA — Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick Partner Ronald Christaldi has been named the next vice chair of the New College board of trustees.
New College of Florida is a public liberal arts honors college in Sarasota; Christaldi is an alum of the school. Mary Ruiz is the incoming chair of the board of trustees.
Christaldi, based in Tampa, represents clients in complex transactions and litigation, according to a statement. He is also president and CEO of the public affairs firm Shumaker Advisors Florida.
Christaldi is a past chair of the Tampa Bay Chamber. He also serves in leadership roles for several organizations, including the Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa Bay Chamber, Tampa Bay Economic Development Council, Friends of the Riverwalk, the Tampa Economic Advisory Committee and the Ybor City Development Corp. Board of Directors, the release states.
"We are proud that New College alumnus Ron Christaldi will be serving as Vice Chair of our Board of Trustees,” says New College President Don O'Shea in the statement. “He brings an impressive level of business and legal experience and an extensive network of community connections to our Board."
Founded in 1925, Shumaker provides legal and legislative services with a team of more than 270 lawyers and advisors.
