NAPLES — A specialized self-storage facility — for wine — is being built in Naples.

Gates Construction is overseeing the three-story climate controlled building, Carl’s White Glove Persona Storage & Wine Vault, according to a statement. The building is at 11201 Tamiami Trail East, across from Treviso Bay. A value for the project wasn’t disclosed.

The project joins at least one other self-storage facility in the region dedicated to wine, with Cellar Fifty-Five in Sarasota. Wine industry veterans Rachel Keller and Bruce Nichols are behind Carl’s White Glove Persona Storage & Wine Vault, according to the storage facility’s website. The project is expected to open May 1.

With a portion of this dedicated solely to wine storage, the remainder of the space will be used for luxury storage units. The Wine Vault will provide comprehensive wine storage options for restaurants, wine clubs, brokers and to individual collectors looking to protect their prized wine collections, the release states. The Wine Vault is fully equipped with an emergency back-up power system to maintain temperature and humidity during any power outage.
