CLEARWATER—Michael Williams, a marketing veteran with 30 years of experience, has been hired as the new chief marketing officer for KnowBe4 (NASDAQ:KNBE).

The Clearwater-based IT security company announced Williams’ hiring in a statement, saying he has specialized  in targeted marketing and brand development.

In his role, he will over oversee the company’s global marketing and public relations strategy.

Williams previously held the same position at D2iQ and Sysmantec.

Stu Sjouwerman, KnowBe4’s CEO, says in the statement that Williams is a “perfect fit…given his extensive experience working for cyber security organizations.”

KnowBe4, founded in 2010, provides security awareness training and simulated phishing platforms. The company has more than 1,000 employees and it’s used by more than 39,000 organizations.

According to an earnings report released in May, the company had $53.5 million in revenue for the first quarter, a 36.7% increase over the same period a year ago.
