AFC Logistics has moved its headquarters to Tampa and expects to hire 150 people.
The freight broker, which is a division of Chicago-based AFC Transport, is currently working in a downtown co-working space as it finalizes the details on a permanent headquarters location. The company will remain in the co-working space until the summer, according to a spokeswoman.
The move to Tampa comes as AFC Logistics has set a revenue goal of $300 million in three years. The 150 employees will be hired to help attain that goal, the company says. The jobs will be mostly in sales and customers service, with about 10% of the new hires focusing on training, recruiting and accounting.
For now, there are about 20 employees working in the co-working space “with an unconfirmed number of employees making the physical move,” the spokeswoman says.
AFC Transport was founded in 2012 and launched the logistics division four years later “to provide a broader scope of service to customers.”
The company specializes in tech-enabled freight services for several industries, including steel, construction, heavy equipment, consumer goods and manufacturing. It also has a fleet of 150 flatbed trucks and more than 50 refrigerated trucks available.
Kyle Ingraham, AFC Logistics’ president, says in a statement that “AFC Logistics is growing rapidly in service offerings and structure, and that expansion demands our constant and continuous endeavors to strategically scale our company.”
