NAPLES — The iconic Fifth Avenue South recently took another step in its evolution from primarily a shopping and dining destination into a diverse business hub with the opening of The Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center, which will showcase services, programs, technology and innovations available at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
The unique addition joins more than 200 merchants, restaurants and businesses on the five-block-long business improvement district in downtown Naples.
“The Nicklaus Children’s Resource Center is the first of its kind on the avenue and will add to the increasing diversity of the street,” says Bruce Barone, executive director of the Fifth Avenue South BID, in a statement.
Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Resource Center staff will be available to assist with referrals or second opinions and provide access to pediatric medical resources. Founded in 1950 by Variety Clubs International, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is South Florida’s only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, with nearly 800 attending physicians and more than 475 pediatric sub-specialists.
“The goal is to increase awareness about the wonderful work Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is doing and educate our local families about the high level of care available on the East Coast,” says Julie Pedretti, area director of community relations for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, in a statement. “The center offers high-tech displays and videos to provide information about Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and is staffed with members who are able to assist with referrals or second opinions.”
