TAMPA — The Auto Club Group, headquartered in Dearborn, Mich. has merged with AAA Colorado, growing its membership to more than 14 million and its workforce to 10,200 employees.
According to a press release, the fast-growing AAA club’s territory now includes Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, most of Illinois and Minnesota, a portion of Indiana and the province of Quebec.
It’s the second merger of the year for The Auto Club Group, which has a regional office in Tampa. In January, AAA Carolinas joined the organization.
According to the release, Joseph Richardson Jr. will continue to serve as president and CEO of The Auto Club Group, while Linda Cavanagh, president and CEO of AAA Colorado, plans to retire. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the release.
“This merger demonstrates The Auto Club Group’s financial and organizational strength and signals a bright future ahead for our combined organization and those we serve,” Richardson states in the release. “By aligning our clubs’ unique strengths and core values of always doing what’s right for our members, we’ll be able to provide a wide array of best-in-class products and services focused on improving the member experience and enhancing the careers of our dedicated team members.”
